Corporate Counsel (Finance Services Sector, Legal Advice) - DS [Singapore]

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support on various legal, regulatory, and compliance matters, ensuring the company operates within the law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, safeguarding the company's interests in all business transactions.
  • Handle all legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Develop and implement company policies, guidelines, and procedures to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advise on corporate governance and best practices, assisting in the development of corporate strategies and risk management.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel as needed, effectively managing legal resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Keep abreast of changes in legislation and regulations, ensuring the company remains informed and compliant.

Requirements:

  • A law degree from a recognized university and admission to the Singapore Bar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Singapore's legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, managing a diverse range of legal matters and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
